SILK have had an accident today. A bag with a lot of stuff got stolen. Over 700 iron bars, 2k iron ore and 500 fe's. If someone sees jacoblin plz try to get at least our bars back.

Such a blow to us...we worked so hard and now all days work is wasted.

ya, but we were making them in cc. And Kedan took them to dp storage, then Kedan jumped off the bag and wanted Thrall(his account in Riva) to take over the bag and then jacoblin jumped in before Thral even moved. I was close by and was waiting for Kedan to get the bag ready for me. I never saw jacoblin grabbing the bag so swift was the bag jumper.

It's a war against Vulf. Kill them if u see them in pk areas especially jacoblin,

just wondering, as the update hasn't happened will the contest end tomorrow (the 13th?) i personally suggest saying if the update doesn't happen by friday then the contest ends, but if it does go as plained with waiting until it is sure there wont be a rolback, and if you say friday that gives everyone time to use the last of there stuff and hand in the bars

We have received an amazing number of steel and iron bars from this contest, everyone is doing exceptional.

But I had a wonderful idea to make it more exciting. :roll:

We are delaying end of contest till after update and update bugs are resolved.

As such, starting Friday, Sept 16th at noon cst time, any bars turned in prior to that will be scored like normal.

Any bars turned in after Friday Sept 16th at noon cst time will be scored as follows:

Gold 5, Silver 4, Steel 3, Iron 2, Titanium 1.

This will make it more fun and help balance the number of bars we are getting, allowing us to give out even more rings/medallions at end of contest.

That's obviously not fair coz many SILKers can't mine gold and silver. And changint the rules like that isn't fair on us too.

Surely that cannot be the same contest if u change every single rule? We could have ended this contest as planned on 13th sept , though you decided not to and now changing the rules like that. SILKers won the contest you cannot change the rules into stealth favour like that. I feel offended by all that business.

It seems to me Riva guys don't want to lose it real badly and they will do anything to make sure Riva guys win,

Not fair! To make it more fair to us i say SILKers should get 5 points for steel bars and 4 points for iron bars. Otherwise it becomes a one team contest. I can't mine gold...and many others can't too. Do you expect 1 of our own to keep this contest going? Or should we do steel bars and lose this contest after what we have achieved? No way! Cheaters!

I really shouldn't post and should keep my mouth shut but I won't because not only are you saying that a lot of good ppl are cheating but that riva is not above cheating. And this is not the first time either. I must ask what is your problem? Silk is our sister and it is our hope that all silk members will someday join the ranks of riva so why would we want to have hard feelings between the guilds? Did you talk this over with silk leaders or with mcgiver or shallara? Perhaps they simply had not thought it through and did not think about that silk may have trouble making the higher point bars. I do know that mcgiver and shallara would not cheat and I know sega would not want them to. I have talked to sega about this contest and I can tell you he does not care which team wins he just enjoys the competition and he also is ready to have the contest come to an end. I'm sure that mcgiver and shallara meant this contest to be fun and a celebration of their union but you are taking the fun out of it. The last thing i have to say is that this whole thing is a game it is meant to be fun try to remember this and just have fun with it.

Logically, the harder bars would have been worth more points..
BUT
with the contest and prizes laid out like they were, we needed to ensure that more iron and steel were turned in so the srmor and weps could be made
We chose to switch it around due to a request (not saying from where)
that we give out MORE magic items at the end of the contest
This requires WAY more gold and silver bars than have been turned in
A swap seemed to be a good idea
You can always start reading now, and hope that there's no rollback
None of us know if there will be or not

im sorry this afferend so many riva's, im going to talk to grymauch about this. I agree with why you done it mcggy and shally and i personaly do want more magic items and i know that silk can still get lots of bars in anyway, its not all about levels and knowelgy, its about teamwork and man power, and well silk has alot of both, so im sure we will do just fine.

Ok, i think i should post my 2 cents here

I had a lot of fun during the last weeks. The contest began when Kedan recruited me.
So i began to read the books to harvest ore and make iron/steel bars.
With Kedans help i was at alch lvl 22 in no time. Making bars pushed my alch to lvl 38 now.
That's what i really appreciated from the contest. We also were party harvesting coal and ore, that glued togesther some silkers.
We also met guys from riva in the caves, like gizz, Awn, VampireVorador and others. So we had some nice conversation

I started now reading the silver and gold books, hoping there wont be a rollback.
Knowing grymauch, he always exaggerates "a little"
I dont think he really wanted to blame riva as cheaters. Maybe he should have chosen some other words.

However, i look forward to the new contest week, hoping to have more fun, exp and competition with the other two teams.

I wanted to say some more warm words but english doesnt allow it

ok i have a few things to add here;

1. my team and i have nothing to do with the restructuring of the contest, i found out about it yesterday from someone else.

2. my team has worked to hard to be called cheaters. if we have cheated i would had bought the bars instead of making them. so that my wife would not be pissed at me for sitting in front of pc instead of doing work she wants done around the house. buying the bars would have made my life alot easy, but then i would have to deal with the guilt of cheating. and thats not my style.

3. i don't care if i win or lose i like to do contest for the challange of them, not so i can ALWAYS win i find them fun. but and i do it in a fashion to force the other teams to TRY and out do me so that we get more then what we thought we could do, so that ALL can benifit from the rewards and the skills that is obtained by working harder then normal.

4. if you grymauch think that my team and i are cheating then this is what i have to say about it;

my team and i will turn in everything we have worked hard on and will without complaint drop out of the contest and you shall have your victory because i will not be called something im not. so grymauch it is your choice and its on your shoulders now to make others do their best not mine.

5. if anyone finds this post a offensive then i am sorry but this one i will not delete myself. sorry if it is offensive too

I wasn't in my best mood today when i posted my first message. Also when i called you guys cheaters i didn't mean for the whole Riva guild. I don't know who i meant. I wrote it as a joke or something. I am a bit sick too..got a virus .... so my mood is not at the high level.

I just don't get it. I try to be friendly with people and honest, and all i ever get people turning on me. The funny thing that it never happens in real life. I really don't get it..when i'm on the internet people interpret thigns differently and i always come out a bad guy. OK i said i was sorry! Plz don't take it any further!

As a punishment i don't want to take any prizes for the 2nd part of the contest. And if that is not enough for you guys to prove you that i'm sorry i will step down from co-leader of silk. Oh well, only lasted 2 days. hehe. Looks like i've done a really big mess of it. hehe.

i join this contest hoping to gain alot of levels but due to high school i mum been keeping me off haha mum i'm on this time

I'm throwing in another truckload of braches to keep the fire going (hopefully not...)

I'm not calling anybody a cheater, and I don't thing gry was either...
My interpretation of his post is much like my own feelings... Everytime you change the conditions for a contest during the contest it can be interpreted as favoring somebody not in the lead, or punishing the one in the lead... BUT I'M NOT SAYING THIS IS THE CASE !!!!!! (caps to try to make everybody understand )

We have been given a good reason for the change. But perhaps it would have been good to been given this at the beginning (not dates or actual changes, but just that depending on how many bars are turned in, scoring might change... or perhaps a target ratio)

On the actual change... the date for changing scores is actually within the testweek interval, meaning that there will be no chances to turn in bars using the old scoring method... Is this intentional or are you counting on an official notice that the testweek is over before that ?

Otherwise it would be better to move the change forward to atleast 24h after an official posting by the dev-team that the testweek is over...
To allow submissions of bars...

I assume that there will be good precence by the contest "masters" arund the rule-change time...

Oh.. one more thing for those that don't understand this... smileys are used to show emotions and irony/sarcasm/etc... The ones in my post (and probably gry's) are used to show that I'm not dead serious...

Perhaps you have noticed the smiley just after gry's "Cheaters! " which clearly indicates that he is not really calling anybody a cheater...

gry the problem you made was that riva prides itself on be honest and nice guys, so saying there not is proberly the worse thing you could do, but everyone makes mistakes we're all human (also dont blame it on being sick, im sorry if you are feeling sick but trying to pass on the blame doesn't look good for you) being in a bad mood is a half ecuss but its better if you just say sorry and leave it at that.

To riva and all over bar contests, please dont drop out of the contest yet!! i dont want silk to win just because you droped out, i want to win this with hard work not with dirty tactices, and if we dont win, well who cares i know silk members have gain a total of atlest 40 levels in this contest!!!! so thats proberly better than any other prize you could give us, plus i gain two new leaders, and they have helped me out alot, ok gry has made a mistake, next time he should come talk to me first, then i'll explain it better to him.

Guys, dont be so hard. I am meaning the ones who is threatning to leave the contest.
The main idea is 1) to have fun, 2) increase friendship and 3) improve skills.
By what I read, 3) is going well. 2) is working inside teams, but is not working among teams, due to some 1). For example, I cant resist making some jokes on Sega, because he is a very serious and hard working guy. But he knows how high I consider him a friend. Grymauch is perfect, he is always showing disposition to smile and make jokes. Hard tongue, but more than correct actions. Gizz himself bagjumped silk! this was really very funny.
Once I approached Sega group, and he quickly warned his mates: Don't belive nothing Adranbach says. So, I imediately started to say a lot of good things about Sega.

My idea is: we can make a superteam called the friend guys. I am the 1st to join. I would like to see everybody in this team, so we all will make a one only big winning team, and end up all together. I would vote Segacd to be the friend guys team leader, if he accepts.

i have had to put a lot of thought into this but i have a couple of things to say;

1. im sorry if i take somethings or should i so most things to seriously. buit i aim to do my best at things and that even means trying to win a contest. but for some reason the word "cheater" just didn't sit well me . sorry for this, but i had to try and stick up for my guild and my team. im also sorry for being to serious as this isn't always a good thing. i work hard at whatever i do and maybe sometimes to hard at it :roll: . and doing contest is no different when it comes to working hard :wink: . but i try to have fun and it seems that im lacking in this area alot . i do like to make new friends and i have made alot on this contest. some that i can trust some that are still a bit scetchy (but working on them).

2. :shock: im not sure what to say adran but thank you. im still unclear as to why u would want me to lead such a massive team but ok :?: . but i can only accept if others would want such a thing of me. and i would have to have some help as well :wink: . as i can not lead a big team of this size on my own . but as i said before i do my best at whatever i do. so I would be Proud to Lead such a Team :wink: . (not big headed but proud)

3. grymauch i accept your apology in this matter. and i apologize for not seeing the humor in the joke. but i hope things can be worked out for the better and not the worst :wink: . and im sorry to all if im not what everyone wants or expects of me to be .

4. if the contest IS ending because of me then im sorry for this and and i meant not anyone to be hurt so Shallara and Mcgiver, i hope that your EL married is the best one you ever have. and you have my Best of Bestest wishes in EL marriages. Good Luck you two. :wink: 8) .

ok it was more then a couple of things sorry :wink:

In truth, the contest was designed to:

1) have fun and overall I think everyone has
2) help folks develop teamwork, again I think that has happened
3) get folks outside riva involved with rivans, and that has worked great
4) empty my storage (working great on that one)
5) get folks talking more, and boy, did that work. :shock:

So all in all, contest was a success and nobody "made" me end it, I just decided the update is stable enough, contest served it's purposes and it was time to end it.

I do apologize for the changes, this is my first contest I've ever run and wanted to make it as exciting and fair as possible. :oops:

So no hard feelings and I feel everyone involved was a winner in many ways.

Just some news for those who think that me and sega are against each other. Yesterday i was gonna post a post, and received a msg from sega telling me to read his post on the forum. When i read it, it was exactly what i wanted to say. So we think alike. After that we've spend about 1-2 hours together wandering on the new continent...also seen Coco hunting polar bears. And seen some nice places. BTW, there is a puzzle just like in ws magic shop at Bethel ship wreck. Well coco teleported to the ship and watched me struggle, hehe. Still i've done it! You wanna see it go north-west of Bethel and try to get on the ship without using teleport.

I'm so glad i'm in your guild! SILK and RIVA is one team! The contest is over let us all celebrate. Many Thanks to Shallara and Mcgiver!
